Grow your own food project

Overal the Grow your own food project has gone well this year, apart from of course in the families devastated by flooding.

Sadly this happens every year, some crops are lost because of the weather conditions.

But Brian visited many families during the last month’s, who were very happy with their vegetables and took good care of their gardens.

To be honest, it sometimes happens, that people try to prepare the garden, but later on do not take care of their garden and the plants in it. Brian tries to explain what happened and that without proper care, the crops die. Still, far more people do care and that is why they remain on the list to receive the seeds next year! Fresh food on the table this summer will give motivation for the work next year. Because it is hard work, digging in the ground for preparation and going back and forth to the well on the street to get water for the soil and growing plants!

Thank you Mr. Vreeken en Rijk Zwaan for your generous donation this year!!
