Providing a food source for those in need

St RCHF the last several years has developed a method to help the most deprived families who have often no work and as such no source of income to help themselves to a healthier life. This comes in the form of an understanding between ourselves and those we help where we thanks to our sponsors Vreeken’s zaden en de Zwaan Rijk, who provide for free vegetable seeds to families in need who cannot afford to purchase at shop prices vegetables.

In return the family agrees to dig, rake and prepare their plot of land in the garden and to plant the seeds which then are tended, watered and with any weeds taken out when required as they grow.
This all results in free vegetables that the family could ill afford to purchase and gives them a sense of achievement that they made this themselves!

For the neediest families this is a real plus as for instance lettuce, radish, spring onions and cucumbers can be grown and harvested twice a year in the single plot whilst cabbage, beans, onions, tomatoes and peas also yield a good supply to help feed the family for a few months and all for free.

Stichting Romanian Children’s’ Humanitarian Foundation receives some monthly donations from long standing supporters who recognize the importance of our work that brings hope and raises standards for the poorest of people in eastern Europe today including both children and the old aged people who suffer the most when living in hard circumstances. We educate children to a better standard in pre schools and schools via the superb Timmy Mouse educational aids that allow every child to learn with ease, plus provide essential school materials to many a child who’s parents have no financial means, support families in difficulty to raise their heads above water and allow a healthier lifestyle, plus help the sick back to health in well designed projects and also provide summer holiday camps for children without the possibility of even a days holiday and much more besides.
